Fun With Dick & Jane

It was a lively program on Tuesday.  Unfortunately the recorder missed the first 45 minutes.  (It was clearly GUE, but don’t tell anyone.)

Dick and I talked about President Obama’s first week in office.  (Did it seem really really long to anyone else?)

This week we saw the announcement of the closing of GITMO, but no plan for the terrorists who reside there; The President’s first TV interview – on Al-Arabiya of all places; The appointment of the first (known) tax cheat to the position of Secretary of Treasury; The proposal of a one trillion dollar democrat payback program thinly disguised as a stimulus, but containing very little stimulus; and the demise of Caroline Kennedy’s senate hopes.

We also talked about the coming showdown between Deval Patrick and Ted Kennedy over Cape Wind.  President Obama will be charged with choosing the winner.  Dick predicts he will go with Deval "because Ted is dead".

We discussed the subpoenas issued by prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald to Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett and others on President Obama’s A-team, and the complete dearth of MSM reporting on those same subpoenas.

And of course we talked about Barney Frank and his latest act of economy destruction where he issued a $12 million bailout to OneUnited Bank while it was under investigation for unsound regulatory practices, including buying it’s executives a Porsche and a beach house.  This of course was in direct opposition to the rules of TARP, but as we know the rules don’t seem to apply to Congressman Frank.

Finally we talked about Sal Dimasi who is (make that was) the 3rd MA democrat Speaker of the House to be indicted.  That’s what happens when one party runs everything.  And in MA one party runs everything.
